1) APC was established in 1991 as a non-profit joint venture between IBM Philippines and the SM (Shemart) Foundation (today: SM Investments Corporation (SMIC), aka SM Group). In 2014, APC and the National University (NU; Filipino: Pamantasang Pambansa) formally signed to form a Consortium led by SM. In 2018, APC was officialy re-branded to NU-APC to offer its programs through NU. Its campus is known as NU Makati.
2) The Institute of Strategic Information Management was formed as a joint venture between the APC Graduate School of Information Management and SDI Consulting.
