Das alle zwei Jahre stattfindende Internationale Symposium für Informationswissenschaft (ISI) beschäftigt sich mit den zentralen Themen der Informationswissenschaft sowie den wechselnden Anforderungen, die an die Informationswissenschaft gestellt werden. Dies drückt sich in dem jeweiligen Tagungsmotto aus, das ein aktuelles Thema im Fach akzentuiert. Das Symposium wird vom Hochschulverband Informationswissenschaft (HI) organisiert.
