2) "Knowledge and Information Science" was the official translation of "علم اطلاعات و دانش شناسی" by the university. Literally it means "Information science and knowledge knowing". The google translation for "knowledge knowing" is "epistemology". Currently the official translation of the department is "Department of Information Science, Library and Epistemology"
