1) The College of Arts, Technology and Environment was created by Departments of the former Faculty of Art, Media and Design (AMD; later: Faculty of Creative Arts, Humanities and Education) and Faculty of the Built Environment (FBE; later: Environment and Technology)
2) The School of Computing and Creative Technologies was formerly known as Department of Computer Science and Creative Technologies at the Faculty of Environment and Technology.
2) The Knowledge Management and Knowledge Organization modules are accredited by the Chartered Institute for Library, Information and Knowledge Professionals. The Knowledge Management was formerly known as "Information and Knowledge Management" professional course with the same course content but not accredited.
4) The Department of History, Philosophy and Politics was formerly part of the Faculty of Creative Arts, Humanities and Education
5) The College of Business and Law was created in 2011. Before the Bristol Business School was an independent unit and the other school of the college, the Bristol Law School, was part of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities
