1) TU Dublin was created in 2019 though a merger of the Institute of Technology Blanchardstown (ITB; Irish: Institiúid Teicneolaíochta, Baile Bhlainséir; est. 1999), the Institute of Technology Tallaght (ITT; Irish: Institiúid Teicneolaíochta Tamhlacht, est. 1992), and the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT; Irish: Institiúid Teicneolaíochta Bhaile Atha Cliath; est. 1978). From 2011-2018 the tree institutions worked together in a formal alliance under the name "Technological University for Dublin (TU4Dublin).
DIT's predecessor was the City of Dublin Technical Schools with the College of Technology founded in 1887. DIT was created in 1978 as a federation of colleges when the College of Technology joined with other five institutions. In 1992 DIT was established by legislation as a single institution.
2) The Faculty of Sciences and Health was formerly known as the College of Sciences and Health and the Faculty of Science at DIT
3) The School of Chemical & BioPharmaceutical Sciences was formerly known as the School of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences at DIT
4) The School of Computer Science was formerly known as School of Computing at the DIT College of Sciences and Health
5) The Master of Science in Computing (Information and Knowledge Management) is the successor of the Master of Science in Computing (Knowledge Management) (2006-2011). It is replaced by the Master of Science in Computer Science (Data Science)
